RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Responsibilities
- Manage provision of temporary relief to households living in exceptional housing situations.
- Determine departmental role in cases of disasters.
- Facilitate assessment of structures for disaster-affected households.
- Compile and submit applications for temporary shelters.
- Facilitate processing of applications and consolidate reports for shelters erected.
- Manage contractor performance.
- Oversee administration of the Emergency Housing process.
- Facilitate certification of work done and processing of claims.
- Monitor and manage filing system.
- Ensure compliance with statutory report submissions.
- Facilitate submission of IYM/DORA reports.
- Consolidate quarterly, half-yearly, and annual reports.
- Facilitate submission of compliance reports.
- Manage allocated resources of the sub-directorate.
- Manage employee performance, training, coaching, mentorship, and development.
- Develop and implement unit plan.
- Manage unit assets and employee conditions of service.
- Maintain sound employment relations.
- Ensure effective communication management.

Conduct weekly operational meetings with the team.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- National Senior Certificate.

National Diploma (NQF level 6) or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) in:
Public Administration
BAdmin
Developmental Studies
Built Environment
Or an equivalent qualification as recognised by SAQA. - 5 years’ relevant experience in the field.
- 3 years’ experience as an Assistant Director in the field.
- Highly diligent, confident, and able to take initiative.
- Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation, government policies and prescripts, government programme of action, public service regulatory framework, information management, and performance management.
