RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage special projects.
- Coordinate business and performance planning for housing projects.
- Facilitate strategic reviews and interventions based on technical evaluations.
- Liaise and interact with stakeholders and partners.
- Facilitate outsourcing of technical/professional services.
- Manage and maintain programme monitoring tools.
- Manage and facilitate remedial works.
- Ensure adequate resources for business units and partners entrusted with project management and inspections.
- Administer and facilitate inspections of housing projects, ensuring compliance with building standards/quality.
- Facilitate support and remedies where unsatisfactory performance is detected.
- Oversee certification/sign-off of professional work.
- Develop job descriptions, work plans, and PDPs for all staff in the sub-directorate.
- Manage directorate resources.

REQUIREMENTS

- National Senior Certificate.

Undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) in:
Public Administration/Public Management
Human Settlements
Social Sciences
Project or Construction Management
Or equivalent qualification as recognised by SAQA. - 5 years’ experience at middle/senior management level.
- SMS Pre-entry Certificate (to be submitted by shortlisted candidates, online at www.thensg.gov.za).
- Strong management experience with sound knowledge of government systems, applicable legislation and regulations.
- Highly diligent, confident, able to take initiative.
- Good communication, project management, presentation, report writing, planning, organising, problem solving and analysis skills.
- Ability to work in a team and under pressure with strict deadlines.
- Effective and efficient budget and expenditure management skills.
- Computer literacy.
